Pagh celebrates Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day
PAGH flag raising, spirited car rally and grand musical evening unite the community

Houston’s Pakistani-American community markets Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with a lot of energy and an impressive show of unity as the Pakistan Association of Greater Houston organized a memorable flag-raising ceremony outside its office on August 14.
The national flag was raised by PAGH President Siraj Nasir and Secretary General Amir Zaidi in the presence of asociational members, team leaders, community leaders and supporters. The gathering stood together in a deeply patriotic atmosphere, celebrating Pakistan’s freedom and honoring the sacrifices made for the creation of the country.
The ceremony was an inspiring spectacle. Green-and-white colors, national flags and enthusiastic participation transformed the PAGH grounds into a lively expression of love for Pakistan. People of different generations joined the celebration, demanding that Pakistan’s freedom and honor the sacrifices made for the creation of the country.
Following the flag raising, PAGH organized a spirited car rally from the headquarters to Golden Tree Club. Decorated vehicles, national colors and cheering participants carried the Independence Day celebration through Houston’s Pakistani community – continues to maintain with its homeland.
The celebration continued with a grand musical program that drew families and community members into an evening of entertainment and fellowship. Guests enjoyed complimentary food, refreshments and warm hospitality arranged by Mr. Farooq, whose generous dinner service added greatly to the occasion.
Music, fireworks and widespread jubilation created an unforgettable unionistic event. The event offered not only entertainment, but also an important opportunity for the community to come together, share its cultural pride and introduce younger generations to the meaning of Independence Day.
The successful program reflected extensive teamwork and organization by PAGH. Memberships from the dignified flag ceremony to the colorful rally and packed musical evening, every stage carried a clear message of unity, gratitude and hope.
